Can you create a musical in just 48 Hrs?
The Westlake Productions 48-Hour Musical Challenge is a fast-paced creative challenge where students come together to create and perform an entire musical in just 48 hours!
Students can audition to perform on stage, while others can apply for creative roles such as Musical Director or Choreographer, working alongside staff mentors. Students also have the opportunity to be part of the technical and backstage team.
From the first rehearsal to opening night, everything is created in just two days, the show, the music, the choreography, the costumes, the sets and the performance!
It’s a chance to collaborate, take creative risks, learn new skills and discover just how much can be achieved when a team comes together.
48 hours. One musical. One unforgettable challenge.
After an intense weekend of rehearsals, problem-solving, laughter, exhaustion and creativity, the students finally step onto the stage, and the show begins.
There is no time to wait for perfection.
Students have to communicate.
They have to trust each other.
They have to adapt.
They have to lead.
They have to create.
And they have to perform.
That is what makes the 48-Hour Musical Challenge so special.
It isn't simply about producing a show in 48 hours. It is about giving young people the opportunity to discover what they are capable of, as performers, artists, technicians and leaders, when they are trusted to create something extraordinary together.
